4 months

Mr. Jonah turned 4 months old on the 28th, and he had his check up today. He is weighing 15 lbs 4 oz and is 24.25" long. His growth has slowed down a bit, he's only in the 50th-ish percentiles for height and weight but his head is on the 80th. He's still huge to me though since he's starting to wear 12 month clothes and is so much bigger than Avery was at this age.

He's now in size 3 diapers and we have started our cloth diapering journey as well. I only have enough to do them part time for which is actually working out great! It's way easier than I anticipated and they are super absorbent, but a bit bulky. I am still doing disposable ones for about half the time at home and for on the go.

This boy is literally learning new things every single day. He's discovered his tongue, and is amazed by his hands and feet. He loves sitting up and standing with support. He is so strong and will propel himself forward from a reclined position. He hates lying down on his back, and he's officially a belly sleeper in his crib. He's so close to flipping over but gets stuck on his side while going either way. He has gone from belly to back twice in his crib but it doesn't count because I didn't see it! Haha.

He loves kisses and grabs my face to give me big open-mouthed wet ones whenever he can. His two bottom teeth have his gums so swollen and are a mere amount of hours from popping through. Combine that with vaccines and you've got a very cranky boy.

He got the okay to start baby cereal soon, but I'm in no rush. He loves his sister and pat-a-cake and both make him giggle. He can grab toys and is learning to play. He hates his car seat unless he's asleep but doesn't mind driving as long as you don't stop. He hair and eyebrows are really growing in and he gets more handsome each day. We love this little cutie!!!

Endless Summer

Backyard fun!
She wanted her hair straight like Mama had
Going out for SnoCones

Cici's lunches
It feels so weird to see all of my teacher friends back to work, and all the mommas around me sending their kids back to school, knowing I don't have to go! It's so nice not having that knot in my stomach that comes with leaving my babies all day, but also so unfamiliar. There's no classroom to set up, no Meet-the-teacher jitters, no lesson planning, bulletin board decorating, no anxious students excited for a new year, no coworkers to goof around or gossip with during recess duty or planning periods...  just me and my little ones taking it day by day.

It's a tad bittersweet, but so far I am loving it!! As of now, I have no definite plans to go back to the classroom at least until Jonah is in school, but even then, I may be happy to be the PTA and soccer/dance mom for awhile if I can!

I am so lucky to get to spend this time with them! Some days are rougher than others.. I get pooped on and spit up on and deal with tantrums and nap protests on a daily basis. My only compensation is in the form of drooly kisses, snuggles and giggles, but I truly wouldn't have it any other way. I always struggled with leaving Avery. Every Monday was always hard, even 2.5 years later. I can't imagine leaving 2 babies every day. Kudos to those working mamas of small kiddos, I don't know how you do it all!!
My 3 babies

As much as I swore I wouldn't "let myself go" I already feel it happening as more days pass without me even looking in the mirror much less putting on make-up and clothes that aren't made of Lycra. It's an endless cycle of dishes and laundry,  but I'm finally starting to get it all under control. I'm also getting so much better at running errands with the 2 of them, although getting to run to the store by myself is an occasional treat...thanks mom!
No Make-up, looking crazy, but they are so cute!

Maybe I'll eventually have all my stuff together.. I dream of being the workout and healthy eating mom, maybe the clean freak mom or the no TV because we are always doing fun crafts and activities mom, the mom that does mommy-and-me yoga or baby wearing ballet and never misses storytime at the library, but for now I'm still the not so crafty, bribes her kid to go potty, Easy Mac for lunch, late to everywhere mom and it's chaotic, but so fun and definitely so worth it!
Our typical days look a lot like this...

A nice cool day called for the park!
Lots of swimming!

Check out that pose!
These moments are the BEST!

I love the way they love each other!!

J's first Vacay

The only pic we got of the 4 of us...if you look closely Jonah is flipping the bird. Ha!

We got back last night from our 3rd annual beach trip to Galveston. We had a lot of fun and stayed in a different house and neighborhood this year that I definitely want to go back to!
The kids did very well! Jonah had some fussy moments and on the way home he was DONE with being in his car seat, but other than that, it was great! I *think* I feel the sharp little poke of a tooth coming in, as of this morning, so that could explain some of the cranky/clingyness.
Rocking out on our way!
First morning at the beach! Octopus and Shark jammies!

Golf cart ride with her cousin/best friend!

          First beach day!
Failed family selfie
       Spa treatment
So tired and over it!

Being silly with my lil lady!
Being eaten by a Megladon. Ahhhhh!!!

Jonah's first ride like a big boy! He did great at the aquarium!
Posing with penguins
Chicks chicka boom boom, look there's a full moon! This book was recited many times!
Finally a great beach nap!

Desi's sidewalk art :)

On our way home!!
